So what is cell metabolism?
Cell metabolism is the chemical process within the cell which makes the genetic code function.Each cell has many receptors which act as key holes for specific functions, andand they are matched by ligands which act as the keys to activate these functions by binding to target proteins.Various proteins are produced according to the expressed genetic code which is stored in the DNA within the cell nucleus.
Our body is made up of around 100 thousand different types of proteins.All proteins are made up of 20 different amino acids. A gene is the minimum unit of a genetic code, andand which provides the blueprint for amino acid sequences which form the composition of proteins.In other words, genes are like architectural plans for the proteins that make up our bodies.When a ligandt (the key) binds to a receptor (the keyhole) in a cell, the genetic code (gene) in the chromosome (DNA) in the cell nucleus is expressed.
Proteins are produced through the binding of amino acids which are collected from the whole body according to the genetic codes.The following are all different types of proteins; collagen, hyaluronic acid andand elastin which form the composition of the skin, growth factors which pass signals to other cells, andand SOD (Superoxide Dismutase) which is an enzyme that neutralizes ROS (Reactive oxygen species)Furthermore, proteins play important roles in cell division andand proliferation, andand thus regulate cell turnover. This process sequence is called metabolism.
The typical ligands responsible for cell metabolism are hormones.Hormones are molecules which are used in communication between the oorgans. ADSC-CM (Adipocyte Derived Stem Cell Conditioned Media) is used for regenerative treatment of the skin by activating the cells.More than 500 different proteins are contained in ADSC-CM andand more than 150 cytokines are contained in those proteins.
Among cytokines, growth factors are abundant andand thus ADSC-CM contributes to anti-ageing through various necessary functions such as the prevention andand reduction of wrinkles, wound healing, skin lightening, hair growth andand antioxidation.
It has been very difficult to establish the mass production technology of ADSC-CM since stem cells are sensitive to the external environment.For our ADSC-CM, we have minimized the stress on stem cells andand developed a three-dimensional cell culture ssystemm which is similar to an in vivo environment to improve andand stabilize the quality of products. This ssystemm has a patent pending.Usually stem cells are cultured on a flat surface in a petri dish. However, secretion of bioactive components such as growth factors are reduced due to cell death oror the weakening of cells from the stress caused when subcultured for proliferation.Manual handling also causes contamination. Our ADSC-CM has an improved andand stabilized quality made possible through an excellent cell cuture environment resulting from our three-dimentional cell culture ssystemm which minimizes the stress on stem cells.
In the field of regenerative cosmetics, developments in skin regenerative therapy are now beginning to address the root causes of skin ageing which are reduced activity in skin cells.
